A prophet is a messenger from God to humanity. The Prophet Isaiah is considered the greatest of the four major prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel). He lived in parts of the 7th and 8th century before Christ was born; let’s call it about 2700 years ago. Isaiah was a Jewish man who is credited with writing The Book of Isaiah which is found in your Bible right after The Book of Sirach and right before The Book of Jeremiah. There are 66 chapters in The Book of Isaiah. 

Are you curious why we’re going with this today? 

Our first Reading today (Isaiah 55:6-9) begins with “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call Him while He is near.” And two verses later, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord.” 

The title of Isaiah Chapter 55 is An Invitation to Grace. 

Let’s take some time to indeed seek the Lord by calling upon Him frequently, confidently, humbly, thankfully, and with unmatched praise and love. We know that it is God’s grace that will draw us to Him, to heaven, to joy. As we get a little jumbled, hurried, myopic, selfish, and insulated in this world of “right now”, let’s thoughtfully reflect on that message that has lasted more two thousand seven hundred years from God through Isaiah to us, “Seek the Lord … call Him”.

Junior High Youth Group

We will gather the Junior High Youth Group TONIGHT Sunday, September 20 from 6:30-8:30 pm in the All Saints Youth Room. We warmly welcome parishioners of Saint Paul the Apostle family of parishes in 7th and 8th grade from ALL schools and all students in 7th and 8th grade at All Saints and Saint Vincent Ferrer Schools. 

The Youth Room is 18 steps below the North Wing (Moeller side) of the Church. The side door entrance from the sidewalk by the big mailbox will lead you in. Come on down.

We will have an evening of Faith, food (pizza and dessert), fellowship and fun. 

We hope to see you every month or every few months … however your schedule fits!

High Schoolers of the Well (HOW … it’s a cool story)

WE WILL GATHER AGAIN ON MONDAY, September 28, from 7-8:3O PM IN THE ALL SAINTS YOUTH ROOM. 

Join lots of kids from lots of high schools for some faith, food, fellowship and fun. 

We welcome Saint Paul the Apostle parishioners from ALL high schools in grades 9-12 and your friends.
